Retail Launch Strategy Β· Updated Aug 6, 2026
Launching Solwel
into Signature Solar's Market.
A 5-month direct-to-consumer growth sprint β 2-3 no-brainer product bundles, TikTok-first content, and a platform built to drop any product into once we own the category. Sales results measured by Dec 31, 2026.
01 Β· The Situation
Where Solwel Stands Today
A category-defining product with a middleman running the sales, one SKU on the shelf, and no marketing presence. The engineering is done. Everything else is upside.
Problem 1
US Solar Supply Owns the Sales
Right now US Solar Supply is packaging, shipping, and selling most of Solwel's product β the middleman between Solwel and the customer. That caps margin, kills brand visibility, and hands the customer relationship to somebody else.
Problem 2
One Kit, One Story
Solwel currently offers one product configuration. Great for the initial run, but it forces every buyer through one funnel. Different buyers want different form factors, price points, and stories. Conversion left on the table.
Opportunity
The Signature Solar Gap
Signature Solar has locked up the whole-home DIY audience. Nobody owns the entry-tier, plug-in, backyard-solar audience yet β the buyer who wants power without a garage full of gear. That's the slot Solwel walks into.
We're trying to chase after the Signature Solar clientele. They're the number one. Easily. We want to take a portion of their market share.

02 Β· Our Approach
Bundles. TikTok. Trackable Everything.
Three moves in parallel: ship 2-3 clean bundles, saturate TikTok with demo content, and instrument the site so every dollar of traffic is measured. A platform we can drop any product into once the funnel proves.
01
Bundle the Product
Move from one SKU to 2-3 no-brainer bundles β each aimed at a distinct buyer (nomads, apartments/townhomes, hard-fixed backyard). Different form factors, all under the entry price point, targeted with different content.
02
TikTok-First Content
New social media hire kicks off next week focused on TikTok as the primary volume channel. Demo-forward, hook-heavy, phone-vertical. Damaris videographer available to fly in for higher-production shoots.
03
Build the Platform
Custom CRM + hand-coded chatbot + robust KPI dashboard β every daily visit, every conversion, every add-to-cart tracked. The site becomes a platform: once the funnel prints, other products drop in without a rebuild.
The way this works the best over time is this just becomes a visited platform that we can drop any product into. That's where the real revenue lives.

The rebrand, written down β brand, socials, TikTok, creators
The consumer repositioning in one document: the Backyard / DIY / Nomad naming architecture, the plain-English voice rules, the color and type system pulled from the SOLWEL mark, logo and photography direction β then the part that turns it into traffic. Every social profile spec'd (avatar, banner, ready-to-paste bio copy, link-in-bio, and an 8-step cutover order so a rename doesn't tank reach), a full TikTok playbook (5 content pillars, hook bank, six named series, and the first 14 days posted out day by day), and the influencer program β five creator archetypes, three tiers from gifted seeding to whitelisted paid, outreach templates, FTC and usage-rights terms, and per-creator tracking. Ends with a 4-week rollout, who-ships-what, and five decisions we need from Tony.

03 Β· Bundle Strategy
From One SKU to Three No-Brainers
Each bundle solves a different buyer's problem. All three under $1,000 spend, targeted with distinct creative and audience. Illustrative names below β David + Lukas finalize the exact SKU mix next week.
π
Bundle A Β· Nomad
Foldable + Travelable
Entry tier
Folding panels + portable battery. Ships small, sets up in minutes. Van-life, camping, off-grid weekenders.
Audience: #vanlife, #overlanding, #diyoffgrid on TikTok. Demo-forward creative.
π’
Bundle B Β· Renter
Balcony & Townhome
Mid tier
Plug-in, no-permit, no-roof panels. For apartments, townhomes, HOA-restricted buyers who can't do rooftop.
Audience: renters + first-time homeowners. "You can have solar too" messaging.
π‘
Bundle C Β· Fixed
Backyard Hard-Mount
Top tier Β· still <$1K
Ground-mount fixed panels + battery. Homeowners who want backup + savings without a full rooftop install.
Audience: cost-conscious homeowners, power-outage regions, DIY-adjacent.
Why three, not one: the same TikTok viewer buys for wildly different reasons. Nomads want portability; renters want no-permit; homeowners want backup. Three bundles = three funnels = three shots at every ad dollar. And once the site converts, we drop additional products in (batteries, add-on panels, alt vendors) without changing the funnel architecture.
04 Β· Site Blueprint Β· Lukas's Plan
One Site, Three Doors
Lukas's optimization plan for Solwel.com, now folded into the launch scope: segment every visitor at the front door, strip all friction out of Plug & Play, and let DIY + Pro carry the average order value. The TikTok buyer never sees a wiring diagram; the installer never sees a beginner tutorial.
π
Path 1 Β· Plug & Play
"Solar in 15 Minutes.
No Electrician Needed."
Main focus Β· TikTok traffic
APsystems plug-in microinverter kits + small batteries. Out of the box, into a wall outlet. Impulse-friendly, aesthetic, zero intimidation.
The hook: lower the bill, keep the lights on in a blackout β never voltage math.
π οΈ
Path 2 Β· DIY Solar
"Build Your System."
Higher AOV
Standard panels, string inverters, and mounting hardware for the knowledgeable homeowner who's done the homework.
Spec sheets, wiring diagrams, and real tools β not tutorials.
π·
Path 3 Β· Solwel Pro
"Installer Portal."
Highest LTV
Bulk ordering, spec sheets, and wholesale pricing gated behind an Approved Installer login.
Pros buy speed and reliability β make reordering effortless.
The Plug & Play Conversion Stack
π₯
01
Vertical Video PDPs
Static image galleries replaced with short-form vertical demos β kit out of the box and plugged into the wall in under 60 seconds.
β‘
02
One-Click Checkout
Shop Pay Β· Apple Pay Β· Google Pay. If a TikTok buyer has to reach for a wallet, we lose them.
π³
03
Buy Now, Pay Later
Affirm / Klarna / Afterpay on every bundle. A $600 kit becomes 4 Γ $150 β impulse-buy territory.
π²
04
Live UGC Feed
Embedded feed of real customers' TikToks + Reels β kits on balconies, RVs, and patios. Social proof does the selling.
π§Ί
05
Lifestyle Kitting
Bundles named for lives, not specs: "Apartment Balcony Kit," "Power Outage Backup Kit," "WFH Off-Grid Desk Kit."
π§
06
Quiz Funnel
"What's Your Solar Style?" β 3-4 questions on living situation + skill level, auto-routes to Plug & Play, DIY, or Pro.
π
07
Post-Purchase Upsell
Automated day-30 email: "Want more power? Add an expansion battery." Modular kits = built-in recurring revenue.
π
08
Sub-2s Mobile Load
90%+ of TikTok traffic is mobile. Under 2-second loads, big tap targets, sticky Add-to-Cart on every product page.
Nurturing DIY & Pro for AOV + LTV
DIY Section Β· Higher AOV
Give the builder real tools
- Downloadable guides β "Homeowner's Guide to Permitting," "Sizing Your Off-Grid Inverter" β email-gated, feeding the CRM
- Deep product pages β full spec sheets + wiring diagrams on every SKU
- Compatibility checker β "will this panel work with this inverter?" answered before the support ticket exists
Pro Section Β· Highest LTV
Make reordering effortless
- Wholesale pricing gated behind the Approved Installer login
- Bulk discounts + saved carts for recurring jobs
- Fast-track shipping + a direct tech-support line β Pros pay for speed and reliability above all
How this maps to the retainer: the site overhaul, CRM, chatbot, and KPI stack already in scope build this exact architecture β Lukas's blueprint is the spec sheet for it. The traffic side of his plan (TikTok Shop, affiliate creators, daily educational shorts) is scheduled in the 90-Day Ramp below.
05 Β· Storefront & Catalog Roadmap
What Solwel.com Actually Looks Like
The visual spec for the Week 2β4 site build β the design reference, the homepage wireframe, the launch pricing, and the 2026 catalog expansion that turns the platform thesis into a stocked shelf.
Sell hardware the way Ride Rich sells armour
Ride Rich moves technical protective gear β armoured motorcycle pants and jackets β as streetwear: video-first, drop-culture, UGC-drenched, on Shopify. Swap "armoured joggers" for "plug-in solar kits" and it's the exact playbook for selling energy hardware to the TikTok buyer. What we're stealing:
| Ride Rich pattern |
Solwel translation |
| Full-screen vertical video hero pushing the latest drop ("NEW DROP | UNIT 16β’ ARMOURED PANTS") | Hero = demo video of a kit going outlet-live in 15 minutes; every new bundle launches as a "drop" |
| "Real customer stories" β verified UGC video carousel, 4.71β
across 794 reviews | The live TikTok UGC feed + verified review stars on every bundle page |
| Bundle Deals as a first-class collection tile, not a footnote | Bundles ARE the store β the 3 lifestyle kits lead every collection view |
| Trademarked sub-brands (Unit 16β’, V2.Flowβ’, Rich Wraps) instead of generic product names | Name the kits like products, not specs β brandable bundle names, never "800W 2-Panel Kit" |
| "IG @riderich Β· 290k followers" badge on the homepage | Social-proof block wired to TikTok from day one β grows into the same trust signal |
| Email capture pitched as "surprise drops + giveaways," not a newsletter | List-building with drop culture: early access to new bundles + giveaway hooks |
| Runs on Shopify β Shop Pay, fast PDPs, review apps, zero custom build | Strengthens the Shopify-checkout case β custom CRM + chatbot can sit alongside a Shopify storefront rather than replacing it |

The Installer Pro portal β the B2B half of the business
The consumer site sells kits to homeowners. This one sells pallets to crews. Same brand, restructured the way the current Shopify store works β products on the front page, promo slider, category tabs, brand strip, warehouses β but built for a distributor: faceted catalog, dealer tier pricing gated behind sign-in, part numbers and stock on every card, a quote builder instead of a cart, and a "Pro Desk" assistant that looks up part numbers and roughs out a BOM. The catalog is live data β 76 real SKUs pulled from solwel.com with real part numbers, list prices, stock and product photography. It also ships a full migration map: every one of the 145 URLs on the current store, with a destination, so nothing 404s on launch day.
β
Built Β· Aug 13, 2026
The wireframe below is now a real design β in two flavors
Full homepage design built as a custom WordPress theme β Ride Rich-style dark storefront, the three lines (Backyard / DIY / Nomad), the $599 / $1,299 / $449 bundles, TikTok proof section, and Pro Portal gateway. Carts & checkout hook into the existing Shopify store via the Buy Button SDK. Now incorporating David's + Lukas's feedback: appliance-level power examples ("runs your fridge"), a hang-it-anywhere placement section, illustrated imagery, and direct buy-from-homepage β quick-buy card in the hero plus one-tap Add to Cart on every featured kit. V2 is the same store stripped to almost pure imagery β full-screen scenes, one-word headlines, price + Add to Cart and nothing else. V3 restyles both in Solwel's actual brand β the charcoal + solar-orange pulled straight from the SOLWEL logo, on a clean light background, with Montserrat type matching the logo's letterforms and the real logo in the header. Click through and scroll them like a customer would; all previews cross-link so it's easy to compare.
V1 Β· Full Storefront
Sells with words + pictures
- Complete WordPress theme, Shopify-wired β hero quick-buy, one-tap Add to Cart on the featured kits, collection landing pages. Ready to install today.
- Full conversion copy β "runs your fridge" power examples, the hang-it-anywhere section, how-it-works, trust strip, financing lines.
- Safer for cold traffic β buyers who need a little convincing before they tap Add to Cart.
V2 Β· Image-First Concept
Sells with almost nothing but images
- One full-screen scene per section β one-word headlines, price + Add to Cart, roughly two sentences of copy on the entire page.
- Feels the most like TikTok β scroll-stopping, zero reading required. Best fit for the impulse buyer the ads bring in.
- Design concept for now β if chosen it gets the same Shopify wiring as V1. A hybrid (V1's structure, V2's visual weight) is also on the table.
π’ New: bulk / multi-unit section (Tony’s pitch). Added to the homepage between the FAQ and the DIY/Pro gateways: “Outfitting a whole building?” — aimed at apartment complexes, landlords and portfolios. Three tiers by door count (5–24, 25–99, 100+), a per-door quote form that validates and captures the enquiry, and the landlord-specific pitch: nothing structural, an amenity that lowers residents’ bills, one invoice on a PO. Chatbot routes “apartment complex” / “bulk pricing” / “landlord” straight to it, and it’s linked in the footer.
Two things Tony needs to decide: (1) the actual discount ladder — the tiers describe service levels rather than percentages on purpose, because a made-up “15% off at 25 units” would get copied into production. (2) metering. A whole-complex rollout raises the question of how units are individually metered and what the utility allows across many connections at one address — the section says we check that first, which is both honest and a good differentiator.
πΊοΈ New: FAQ page with a hover-able state-law map. Plug-in solar is now expressly legal in nine states (Utah, Maine, Maryland, Virginia, Vermont, New Hampshire in effect; Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey signed and starting soon) with bills moving in ten more. The FAQ page maps all 51 jurisdictions β hover or tap a state for its status, wattage cap and effective date. The chatbot answers “is it legal in my state?” by linking straight to it.
β οΈ Two things to raise with Tony before this goes near production: (1) the legal data was compiled from public trackers and two of them already disagreed on NJ, NH, VT and TX β Solwel should verify each state with counsel and re-check quarterly. (2) Texas has no plug-in solar law in effect yet, only a bill moving β which is worth knowing before leaning on “no permits required” in Texas advertising. The page is written carefully: it says “no specific law” rather than “illegal”, and carries a not-legal-advice disclaimer.
π V3 is now a real multi-page site. Added three subpages — Backyard (built around renters, rental homes and townhomes, with balcony as a secondary use, and heavy on imagery), DIY (catalog + pre-packaged bundles) and Nomad (van/RV/campsite). The logo, nav, category cards and footer all link through properly, and Pro Portal points to solwel.com for now. The homepage reviews section also auto-populates with recent 5-star Google reviews from the Solwel listing — it needs a Google API key to go live, and falls back to the sample cards until then.
β V3 is the one Tony liked β and it’s now the most built-out. The light brand version has been filled in with stock photography throughout (hero, all three category cards, product cards, the social wall) plus new sections that were missing: an authorized-brands strip, what’s in the box, customer reviews, plug-in vs rooftop comparison, a financing band, why-Solwel stats, and a six-question FAQ (permits, renting, HOA, weather, what it powers, expanding later). Two things to flag in the meeting: the reviews and the 4.8 rating are placeholder sample content, and a few photos are Creative-Commons licensed — both get replaced before launch.
πΈ The real unlock for either version: a photo/video shoot. Both previews run on placeholder illustrations β and every V2 scene is literally a storyboard frame for the shots the site needs: balcony install at golden hour (hang it β plug it β app screen), backyard ground-stand & fence mount, DIY roof/array build, van or RV on the road, unboxing, and fridge + live-app b-roll. One half-day shoot covers the website, the TikTok ads, and the UGC seed content in a single pass.

2026 Catalog Roadmap Β· Three Markets, One Platform
From the Product Roadmap V2 β current shelf vs. targeted expansion, with street-price ranges. This is the "drop any product into the platform" thesis made concrete.
β‘ Plug & Play Β· Primary
Now: APS EZ1 Plug-In Microinverter Β· EZ1 2-Panel Kit
Targeted Expansion
- Micro-storage: Zendure SolarFlow / Marstek Saturn ~$800β1,200 Β· Anker SOLIX Solarbank 2 Pro ~$999β1,100
- Light panels: 100β200W flexible ~$150β250 Β· 220W bifacial balcony ~$200β300
- Apartment mounting: railing hooks ~$60β90 Β· fence strap kits ~$40β70
- Portable power: EcoFlow Delta 2 / Bluetti AC180 ~$700β1,000
- Smart accessories: Shelly 1PM / smart plugs ~$20β40 Β· NEMA extension cables ~$30β60
π οΈ DIY Market
Now: EG4 18kPV & FlexBOSS21 Β· Sol-Ark 12K/15K Β· EG4 WallMount batteries Β· Runergy / SEG / Hanersun / Talesun panels Β· APS DS3 + ECU-R Β· SunModo racking
Targeted Expansion
- Pre-packaged bundles: 5kW Off-Grid Cabin ~$6,000β8,000 Β· Outbuilding / Workshop kit ~$4,500β6,500
- Ground mount & tilt: EG4 BrightMount / Sinclair ~$300β800 Β· tilt mounts ~$150β250
- BOS & enclosures: combiner boxes ~$100β250 Β· disconnects ~$250β400 Β· PV wire spools ~$50β120 Β· battery cables ~$40β90 Β· tool sets ~$30β60
π Pro Installer Market
Now: FranklinWH ecosystem (aPower 2.0, aGate, aPbox) Β· Sigenergy SigenStor (inverter, battery, loadhub) Β· Sol-Ark Commercial 30K/60K Β· Fortress eSpire 280/306 Β· Hanersun 590W / Talesun 540β590W Β· APSmart rapid shutdown Β· SigenStor EV chargers
Expansion here is program mechanics, not SKUs: wholesale pricing tiers, credit terms, saved carts, and dedicated reps behind the Pro login β then let installer demand tell us what to stock next.
Two flags before build week: (1) The Storage Bundle at $1,299 sits above the original "every bundle under $1K" ceiling β either reprice, or position it as the deliberate step-up SKU with BNPL ($114/mo) carrying the impulse math. (2) Availability check on the expansion list: Anker's SOLIX balcony line is EU-only as of Aug 2026 (see Market Intel above), and Zendure / Marstek plug-in storage needs the same UL / UL 3700 vetting before it's listed β stock the certified stuff first, it's the moat.
06 Β· Competitive Analysis
Signature Solar Β· The Target
The goal isn't to beat Signature Solar at their game β it's to take the slice of their audience they've never really served. Full domain audit delivers Week 1; below is the working read plus the live Semrush snapshot.
Incumbent
β‘ Signature Solar
Texas-based DIY solar warehouse Β· massive SKU catalog Β· YouTube-heavy content engine Β· aggressive pricing across whole-home DIY systems.
- Massive product range β panels, batteries, inverters, whole-home kits. If you're a serious DIYer, it's the default stop.
- Content-first distribution β heavy YouTube / tutorial presence. They educate the audience and sell to the graduates.
- Aggressive pricing at scale β direct-import, warehouse-heavy, thin margins.
- Serious-DIYer audience β assumes you've watched hours of solar-install YouTube and can handle a load-center.
- Weakness: nothing for the entry-tier / plug-in / "I just want to try solar" buyer. High-effort funnel. Not TikTok-native.
Challenger
π± Solwel
Plug-in backyard solar, entry-tier price, TikTok-native demo content, bundle-simple SKUs β the on-ramp before someone graduates to a Signature Solar system.
- Bundle-simple SKUs β 3 no-brainers under $1K. No load-center diagrams. No installer required.
- TikTok-first content engine β where the entry-tier buyer actually lives. Signature Solar owns YouTube; the platform battle is shifting.
- Plug-in / no-permit form factors β solves for renters, HOA homes, van-lifers, first-timers.
- Bring-your-own-vendor upside β once the platform converts, drop in other brands (batteries, add-ons) as new revenue lines.
- Playbook: own the on-ramp. Signature keeps the whole-home DIYer. The entry-tier pool is much bigger.
Organic Traffic Snapshot Β· Semrush Β· Jul 30, 2026

Hardware-brand queries
Their top-ranked keywords aren't broad-consumer solar terms β they're deep-DIYer hardware searches from people already elbow-deep in a build:
| Keyword |
Volume |
Sig pos |
| eg4 | 6,600 | #2 |
| eg4 inverter | 1,900 | #2 |
| eg4 gridboss | 1,300 | #3 |
| sonapanel | 1,300 | #28 |
| eg4 solar panels | 400 | #1 |
| eg4 hybrid inverter | 320 | #2 |
| sigenergy sigenstor battery kit | 320 | #80 |
| talesun solar panels | 170 | #2 |
| solar cell supplier | 140 | #1 |
Almost all their top-ranking pages are for named hardware SKUs (EG4, Talesun, Sigenergy, GridBoss, etc.). Not Solwel's audience.
Top volume opportunities Solwel is missing
The broad-consumer solar terms
These are the high-volume, category-level searches where Signature Solar is ranking on page 3-7 (weak) β meaning nobody owns them cleanly. Prime target for a well-optimized Solwel bundle page:
| Keyword |
Volume |
Sig pos |
| solar panels | 135,600 | #56 |
| solar | 110,000 | #24 |
| solar inverter | 74,000 | #67 |
| home solar panel | 60,500 | #58 |
| portable solar power generator | 60,500 | #68 |
| solar batteries | 60,500 | #34 |
| solar panel kit | 60,500 | #36 |
| solar energy for home | 33,100 | #56 |
| home solar panels | 27,100 | #52 |
Zero incumbent owns the top-3 pack on these. A bundle landing page tuned to "plug-in solar panel kit for home" β a 60K+ volume phrase with weak competition β is a Q4 winning play.
Strategic read: Signature Solar's 12,900-keyword moat is largely defensive β it protects them from other DIY-hardware retailers, but it doesn't reach the entry-tier / plug-in / no-permit buyer Solwel targets. Solwel doesn't need to close the 259 β 12,900 gap. It needs to own a specific ~50-keyword cluster around plug-in, backyard, no-permit, renter-friendly solar β a cluster where Signature has weak-to-no presence. That's the Q4 SEO play, backed by TikTok content on the same keyword themes.

Why that last tile matters most: Lukas's plan is built on APsystems plug-in kits β and APsystems' EZ1 is the first and (so far) only plug-in microinverter to carry the UL 3700 mark (US launch Feb 2026). Solwel can put a legitimate "UL 3700 Certified" trust badge on every product page while Anker's balcony systems are still EU-only and most rivals wait on certification. That's a marketing weapon, not a footnote.

Tailwind Β· The Tax-Credit Shock
Big solar just got 30% more expensive
The federal residential solar credit (25D) expired Dec 31, 2025 β from 30% to zero overnight, no phase-down. Rooftop-purchase economics took their biggest hit in a decade, and cost-conscious buyers are hunting for a smaller way in. Solwel's message writes itself: "No tax credit? No problem β this never needed one." Rule for all creative: never build messaging around federal incentives.
Clock Β· 6β12 Month Head Start
This window closes as certifications land
As of mid-2026 almost no products have completed UL 3700 β a wave of certified competitors is expected in H2 2026, and Anker + EcoFlow will push hard once cleared. The 8 legal states are also a ready-made geo-targeting cheat sheet for paid spend. First-mover advantage is real from now through early 2027 β then it's a knife fight.
08 Β· The 90-Day Ramp

Everything from the original proposal, Lukas's blueprint, and the market research β sequenced into three 30-day sprints. Same retainer, same ad tiers; the only new budget line is creator seeding kits.
1
Days 0β30 Β· August
Launch Loaded
- "Choose Your Path" site live β 3 doors, 3 bundle pages, quiz funnel, one-click checkout + BNPL from day one
- TikTok Shop connected at launch β capture in-app impulse buys on the entry kits, don't bolt it on later
- "UL 3700 Certified" trust badges on every Plug & Play product page β a claim almost nobody else in the US can make
- State-legality SEO cluster started β "Is plug-in solar legal in [state]?" pages for all 8 legal + ~30 pending states; nobody owns these searches yet
- 15+ ad variants live Β· "never needed a tax credit" angle in the first test matrix
2
Days 31β60 Β· September
Feed the Machine
- Affiliate creator program live β seed 10β20 van-life / tech / renter creators with free kits in exchange for a review video + bio link; commission via TikTok Shop affiliate
- Daily educational shorts β "Can I use solar if I rent?" Β· "How to power a fridge in a blackout" Β· "What is a plug-in microinverter?"
- Geo-concentrate paid spend on the 8 legal states (UT Β· ME Β· VA Β· CO Β· MD Β· CT Β· VT Β· NH) where the "it's legal now" hook converts hardest
- Day-30 expansion-battery email flow goes live on the first buyer cohort β the recurring-revenue engine starts here
- Hook library scored weekly β winning bundle Γ hook combos identified
3
Days 61β90 Β· October
Scale What Prints
- Concentrate spend on the winning bundle Γ hook combos Β· Tier 2 budget kicks in
- PR newsjack the legalization wave β pitch pv magazine USA (existing Damaris relationship) + local press in newly-legal states
- Pro portal + gated wholesale live β convert the installer demand the content wave surfaces
- UGC feed on product pages populated from the creator program's best videos
- Holiday gift-angle creative prepped for the NovβDec push
Why this sequence: August builds the machine, September feeds it traffic from three directions (paid, creators, search), October pours fuel on whatever converts. By day 90 Solwel enters Q4 β the biggest gifting + power-outage-anxiety quarter of the year β with proven creative, a creator bench, and the only certified under-$1K bundle line in the category.

Solwel covers flight + hotel; the videographer's time and edit turnaround are included in the retainer. Aim for one 2-3 day shoot per scaling window (Aug launch, Oct scale, Nov holiday push).
10 Β· Scope Boundaries
What's Not in Scope β and Why
At $3,000/mo the focus is bundles + paid creative + platform. Everything below is worth doing eventually β just not on day one.
β Not in this retainer
Handled Separately
- Ad Spend β paid directly to TikTok + Meta. Tiers below.
- Influencer / Creator Seeding β accelerant once winning creative is proven. Phase 2 add-on.
- PR + Launch Press β Green Tech Media / The Verge angle worth it once traction lands. Not launch-week.
- US Solar Supply Renegotiation β the direct-sales transition is a Solwel-side decision. We support with data.
β Included as strategic support
Strategic Support
- Brand Voice Doc β one-page tone / do-don't / taglines the whole team pulls from.
- Hook Library β running Airtable of tested TikTok hooks, watch-through, CPA β filterable by bundle.
- Signature Solar Competitive Report β refreshed monthly, keyword + metadata deltas tracked.
- Bi-Weekly Strategy Call β Tony + David + Lukas Β· 45 min every other week.
11 Β· Recommended Ad Spend
Where Your Ad Dollars Should Go
Two phases: prove the winning bundle + hook, then scale. Paid directly to TikTok + Meta, separate from retainer.
Tier 1 Β· Prove Creative
$3,000 /mo
Aug β Sep Β· testing sprint
TikTok Ads$2,000 Β· 15+ variants across 3 bundles
Meta$1,000 Β· retargeting + Advantage+
Expected outcome
Find 1-2 winning bundle Γ hook combos
Tier 2 Β· Scale
$7,500 /mo
Oct β Dec Β· growth phase
TikTok Ads$5,000 Β· scaled winners + variants
Meta$2,500 Β· lookalikes + retargeting
Expected outcome
Target 2-3x ROAS once winning creative compounds
Assumptions: DTC hardware in a new category typically needs 30 days of creative testing before CPA settles. TikTok Shop-native creative regularly outperforms Meta on CPA by 30-50% in emerging DTC. Meta retargeting closes the browsers. Both matter.

15 Β· Why Now
Why This. Why Now.
01
Five Months to the Reset
David + Lukas have until Dec 31 to prove Solwel's growth story before the Jan 1 reset. Every week without a lead engine is real revenue on the table. Aug 5 kickoff leaves exactly enough runway.
02
The Signature Solar Slot
Nobody owns the entry-tier plug-in solar audience. Signature is dominating whole-home DIY on YouTube β but the TikTok-native, no-permit, renter-friendly segment is wide open. Every quarter it stays open, someone else notices.
03
The Team Is Ready
Product exists. Damaris videographer is available. New social media hire starts next week focused on TikTok. David's 21-year-old daughter lines up as on-camera talent for the renter / townhome / adventure demographic. Everything's positioned.
Kickoff: August 5, 2026 Β· 5-month launch commitment, month-to-month after Dec 30 review.
